Ayurvedic treatment is geared towards assessing an individual's personality, diagnosing the imbalance and bringing the imbalanced tridoshas back to their normal state of balance.
Treatment consists of four basic forms :
Medicine or drug therapy, dietary regime, regulation of life style and Panchakarma
(purfication therapy) .All types of chronic diseases are being treated by specialists at Caritas Ayurvedic Hospital.

Panchakarma, the five purificatory therapies, help to flush out toxins from the body through natural outlets - the mouth, the nostrils, the intestines, the blood and the skin. Panchakarma treatment includes Emesis (
Vamana), Purgation (Virechana), Enema (Vasthi), Nasal administration
(Nasya) and bloodletting (Raktha Moksha).Panchakarma and its upakarma such as
snehana, swedana and others and also other reputed Kerala treatments like
Dhara, Pizhichil, Navarakizhi, Thalam etc are carried out here by experts.

Dhara : Some herbal oils, medicated milk etc are poured on the forehead in a special method for about 45 minutes a day for a period of 7 to 21 days. This treatment is mainly for insomnia, vatta dominated diseases, mental tension and certain skin diseases.
Navarakizhi : The body or any specific part is made to perspire by the application of kizhi
.Two masseurs apply this for about 60 to 90 minutes per day for a period of 14 days. This treatment is for all types of Rheumatism, pain in the joints, emaciation of limbs, blood pressure, Cholesteraemia and certain kinds of skin diseases.
Vasti : Certain herbal oils, herbal extracts etc are applied through the rectum daily for a period of 5 to 25 days. This treatment is for Arthritis, Paralysis,
Ahemiplegia, Numbness, Gastric complaints associated with Rheumatism and constant constipation.
Nasyam :
Herbal juices, medicated oils etc are applied through the nose for 7 to 14 days.This treatment is highly effective for certain types of headaches, paralysis, mental disorders, some type of skin diseases etc.

Rejuvenation Therapy :
Includes body massage with hand by medicated oil, head massage and face massage with hand by medicated
oil, internal rejuvenative medicines and medicated steam bath.
It is for 3 to 4 hours per day for 7 to 14 days. It rejuvenates the mind, body and soul, tones up skin and strengthens systems to achieve ideal health
& longevity.

Udvarthanam :
This is a typical massage with herbal powders for about 30 minutes daily for a period of 14 to 28 days. This treatment is for diseases like
Hemiplegia, paralysis, obesity and certain rheumatic ailments.
Abhayangam :
Special type of massage in which strokes are given according to the diseases for 45 minutes per day for 14 day. This treatment is very useful for obesity, especially for diabetic gangrene
Kizhi :
Herbal leaves and herbs or herbal powders are applied to the whole body in a bowl with hot medicated oils for 45 minutes per day for a period of 7 to 14 days. This treatment is for
Osteoarthritis, Arthritis with swelling, Spondilosis, sports-injuries etc.
Beauty Care Programme :
In this programme herbal face package, herbal cream massage, herbal oil massage and intake of herbal medicines are included. This programme improves skin complexion and tones up the body. |

Body Immunization/ Longevity Treatment : The prime treatment for defying the ageing process, arresting the degeneration of body cells and immunization of the system. Giving Rasayana internally is the main part of the
programme, based on the panchakarma and swedakarma treatment. The 28-day package process includes body massage,
snehapanam, vamanam, virechanam, nasyam, snehavasthi, kashaya
karnapoornam, medicated steam bath, yoga and medicine.

Pizhichil :
lukewarm medicated herbal oils are applied all over the
body by two trained masseurs in a special rhythmic
pattern for about 60 to 90 minutes per day for a period
of 7 to 21 days. Is very useful for Rheumatic diseases
like Arthritis, Paralysis, Hemiplegia, Quadriplegia,
Paralysis agitans, sexual weakness, nervous weakness and
nervous disorders etc.
Sirovasti : Certain herbal oils are poured into a
cap fitted on the head for 15 to 60 minutes per day
according to the patient's condition for a period of 7
days. This treatment is highly effective for facial
paralysis, dryness in the nostrils, mouth and throat,
severe headaches, burning sensation of the head and
other vatta-originated diseases. |
